Christmas is fast approaching, and that means lots and lots of food! Here in Australia it is summer, so Christmas food often takes on some different forms to the traditional things eaten in the northern hemisphere. When the temperature reaches 35C cooking a turkey in a hot kitchen is the last thing you want to do! Seafood and BBQs are common place, followed by fruit pavlovas or ice cream cakes.
In our household we still hang on to some of our old English winter food. For about the last 6 years our Christmas dinner has been Beef Wellington – the recipe for which I will share with you later. However, this year I also have a half leg of ham to glaze and cook, so that will be a new experience!
But the best thing about Christmas is the excuse to eat lots of chocolate and decadent puddings – mmmmm! I’ll leave you on that thought!
