With the summer season approaching for those living in the northern hemisphere, I thought I would take this opportunity to re-visit some of my favourite lighter options for BBQs.
I think it is always good to offer guests something which could be considered ‘healthy’ – after all, who doesn’t know at least one person who is on a diet? Of course these dishes are also super tasty and will appeal to everyone.
These Garlic and Chilli BBQ Prawns are ideal as an appetiser or part of a buffet.
Reduce or remove the mayonnaise then my Ginger and Coriander Turkey Burgers are very low fat.
Let the spices do the talking through these low-carb Caribbean Chicken Wings.
Don’t forget that side dishes are important too. This Wild Rice Salad is fresh and full of vegetables.
Or, indulge only a tiny bit with my Bacon, Chickpea and Spinach Salad.
And for dessert, these Pina Colada Ice Pops contain quite a bit of fruit – although I’m not sure they are particularly healthy 😉
